Getting here.
Places to eat on the way
I travel the A30/A303 frequently, and I have tried all these places.

On the A30 just west of Basingstoke westbound, I can recommend the Little Chef. The first to be modernised using thr Heston Blumenthol menu. Quickest omlette, from bottom on the seat to a cooked omlette in front of me took all of four and a half minutes in a crowded resturant. Satnav:- 51.193014,-1.231747

Champers Deli, New Street, Honiton. A small deli and cafe selling the best Devon Pasties and omlettes made from free range eggs. Perfect for that breakfast stop. SatNav50.799165,-3.188651

Still in Honiton 102 Cafe Bar. On the left going west in Honiton High Street. A shop converted into a wine bar. They are open till at least midnight, and I have often stopped off for a last coffee late at night before tackling that long stretch westwards. Real filter coffee Satnav:- 50.79924,-3.190112

Coombe House Hotel. Gittisham. http://www.combehousedevon.com The most stunning country house retreat you could imagine. An Elizabethan Moanor House with roaring log fires and a smell of fresh ground coffee. Worth stopping for a full meal, the food is delicious. Nothing is too much trouble for the attentive staff. Or even book in for the night. SatNav:- 50.77393,-3.217316

Lifton Farm Shop. http://www.liftonstrawberryfields.co.uk Large pick your own farm, with a farm shop and restaurant. I usually call there when travelling east, and stop for the best scrambled eggs on toast I have ever tasted. Full menu and fast service. It is worth stopping there just to experience the hand washing facilities in the toilets! Why can't all toilets be like this? I usually take the opportunity to buy half a dozen double yoke free-range eggs. Satnav:- 50.645418,-4.29768

This from one of our visitors:- May I also make so bold as to suggest the "Getting Here" page includes a recommendation to take the 2nd turning off the A3083 to get to Cadgwith as the road into the village is better and it passes the car park. I know the road signs also suggest this but anyone looking on a road atlas or following a satnav would take the Ruan turning

If you know anywhere else worth stopping on the way, please feel free to email me with the details. charles@cadgwith.com
